Stop Being Angry!
Anger is deadly to the body. When one is angry, the blood thickens and the circulation becomes poor, causing the heart to have a difficult time pumping; hence, high blood pressure or even a heart attack may occur. Anger can be a deadly hit two targets: the person who is angry and the person where anger is thrown at.
It’s natural to be in a bad mood, especially in times of financial problems, illness, marital or relationship spats, disharmony in the family, being overtired, bitterness towards life, feeling lonely and isolated, and many other factors that make our day seem dull and meaningless. No matter how badly you feel, it is not good for your being to fly off the handle, so to speak, and throw your seething negative energy to your loved ones or to people whom you cross paths with. This is an unfair gesture and reaction.
Anger management is necessary for anger to dissipate little by little. Here are some ways and techniques on how you can control our anger:
- Walk away from the person or the environment that is making you angry because this can lead to an impulsive reaction that can be harmful in several ways later.
- Indulge in an activity to divert your mind. For instance, go for a brisk walk, talk to a friend, take a bath, watch a movie, borrow a baby, or read a book.
- Breathe deeply and relax your mind. A slow count from 1 - 10 combined with a slow breathing exercise is a useful technique.
By following these tips, you won’t be spoiling your day. You’ll come to realize that you can be powerful over your anger, rather than letting your anger control you.
